For the past 65 years the Dolan-Jones-Martino Post 304 American Legion of Jim Thorpe and the Germantown Grove Club have hosted a Fishing Derby for special needs kids in our area.  Panther Valley students have been attending since 1995.  The students enjoy fishing in the stream with the expert guidance of the volunteers, playing outside on the gorgeous grounds, and hanging out with friends from many school districts.  The students are treated to a delicious lunch and many prizes and gifts. For the past few years many of the students have chosen to donate their fish to the Carbon County Environmental Education Center to help feed the birds of prey.  Students from the LifeSkills and ES classrooms will be enjoying the 66th year of this event again this year on May 7th and 8th 2020
